Barbie Birthday Bash 2015

March 9 was the official birthday of our favorite doll, Barbie and this year Community Dolls held the first of what we hope will be many Barbie Birthday Bashes.
The bash was held at the Sugar & Spice Club in Pascha Beach Falls, which is the home of the Community Dolls. My memory says this cute cheerleader doll was Myleen Bonham. I'm there behind her in pink and black.
Attendance was in excess of 30 people at one point. I think the bash was a big success, thank you all for coming.
Always good friends of the dolls.. Miss Silverrain Sucette of Sucette Labs at Coghaven exhibited and joined us for the dance with her dolls and tittybots.
Our DJ was the incomparable Miss Sindrey Trellis aka Lady Sin. In the spirit of the event she dresses as a very cute BJD (Ball-joint Doll). She played for us some great bubblegum pop and went back to Barbie's "decade" the 80s
We held a contest for the "Best Barbie Lookalike"
L$1000 were up for grabs. The contest board went to 4 pages, there were so many entrants.
In first place was WinterRose Ellison in a short pink dress, golden hair and gigantic eyes!
Second place went to Trixie Hobble,  dressed adorably as a rag doll. So Cute!
Third place went to Kendra Chemistry, for her platinum hair and high-waisted pink booty shorts. Here she is dancing in front of wind-up doll Samantha. Who remembers what Kendra's tee-shirt said? I forget.
Our last pictures highlight fetish fashionista, DiaperedPet Jewell. She is adorably dressed in all pink. the top hat was perfect!
We had so many cute & sexy dolls.. All the blonde hair, the smell of peroxide still lingers in the club. Again, thanks to all who contgributed and attended. I cant wait til next year.
Kisses!

CogFest 2014

Hello, all you Dolls and Doll Lovers..

Consistently, one of the Community Dolls' most supportive friends has been Miss Silverrain Sucette of Sucette Labs and Coghaven fame.

This past weekend Coghaven celebrated its Fifth Anniversary with "CogFest." For the third straight year Community Dolls exhibited along with many other friends in the ASFR/Doll community. The Community Dolls booth was a giant doll display jar. We had the key dispenser and updater all set, we even had a display case ready to go.

Coghaven hosted a couple dances, I was able to attend the first one.. It seemed everyone was having a good time. Whoever brought out the bounce-house.. well played.
I was personally involved in at least three girls finding her inner doll.. That was the most rewarding thing for me. It makes me so happy to see the joy in a new doll's exploration.

Congratulations Miss Silverrain and to Coghaven.. here's wishing for another 5 years or more.

Doll Play, the "Top of the Slash"

ON Friday May 9 we hosted our 4th discussion on Doll Play. This topic focused on the tops that play with us dolls.. the makers, owners and winders..
We had about 10 participants all  together. maybe 3 or 4 could identify as tops.. Pictures and transcripts, as usual, below.
..Ohh. And Christina Halpin finally made it to a discussion.. YAY!
So, Dolls. What do we talk around next time?

[16:09]  Andromeda: This is the 4th group discussion on doll play we have hosted, and the first at this specific location
[16:09]  Andromeda: previous topics where "Doll Play. What is it why do we do it?"
[16:09]  Andromeda: "What kind of Doll are you?"
[16:10]  Andromeda: and most recently "Dolly Survival Guide"
[16:10]  Andromeda: This time I'd like to hear from our makers, owners, winders and others who play with us
[16:11]  Andromeda: and failing comment from any D types. maybe we can hear what dolls like in their tops
[16:11]  Andromeda: Sounds Good?
[16:12]  Carla Hirvi-Wetter nods
[16:12]  Christina Halpin: yes
[16:12]  Andromeda: I switch. so I can give viewpoints from both sides of the key
[16:14]  Andromeda: Who'd like to be the first Top/D-type to give her thoughts?
[16:15]  Carla Hirvi-Wetter: c
[16:16]  Andromeda: Well I can say that the dolls I like playing with at the ones most like me.. they have a variety of looks.. but mostly are cheerful, helpful and love to be on display
[16:16]  Andromeda: Yes Carla?
[16:17]  Carla Hirvi-Wetter: I'm still feeling pretty new to the theme, so I have may be thought but not much insight yet.
[16:18]  Christina Halpin: c
[16:18]  Andromeda: that's OK Miss.. just think about this.. what do you like in a doll?
[16:18]  Carla Hirvi-Wetter: My sweet Anna came in my life and has brought sweetness and love to our family in ways which were ... different to that what I was used to from a rather BDSM oriented family. Need I say that she's managed to convert another one to a doll? *giggles
[16:18]  Andromeda: and while Miss Carla thinks about that.. Christina?
[16:19]  Christina Halpin: I knew one man who just really liked hoop dresses.
[16:19]  Andromeda: Stacey and I are in the same BDSM family.. I kinda gave her the doll key bug
[16:19]  Christina Halpin: I don't know if he would own a doll, but he liked to dress them
[16:19]  Stacey Westminster scratches her doll key itch.
[16:20]  Andromeda: That's a bit of objectification for you.. people into mannequins.
[16:20]  dollie anna: Andromeda when you say you switch is it just with other dollies?
[16:21]  Andromeda: I love it when people go through my outfit menus..
[16:21]  Andromeda: I was a switch before I was a doll. I have three girls I own.. only one is a doll
[16:22]  dollie anna: and how do they feel about being owned by a dollie?
[16:22]  Andromeda: it was a bit of a struggle with one.. she had a hard time accepting it.. seeeing it as a submissive role.. but now she is proud to have a "Windup Mistress"
[16:23]  Andromeda: She sees it as a service to me to keep me wound up
[16:23]  Carla Hirvi-Wetter nods
[16:23]  Stacey Westminster mutters something about "keeping Andi wound up ... full-time job"
[16:23]  Akina Hinun giggles
[16:23]  Akina Hinun: cute
[16:24]  Andromeda: Christina had a point though.. there are some tops who are only interested in one aspect of doll play
[16:24]  Andromeda: Like Mr Hoop Dress
[16:25]  Carla Hirvi-Wetter: c
[16:25]  Andromeda: And of course you see a lot of tops who are interested in the sex dolls
[16:25]  Andromeda: Yes please, Carla
[16:26]  Carla Hirvi-Wetter: For me being Mistress is not too different from being in a submissive role in my opinion... We serve needs and we care. May be that's me, I served my Mistress to her death and only then had to grow into D responsibilities
[16:27]  Andromeda: There is actually a term for that.. "Service Top"
[16:29]  Christina Halpin: Andromeda, you are the first one I have heard that likes dolls for their personality
[16:29]  Christina Halpin: Or at least who said that
[16:29]  Christina Halpin: I think most people don't know about doll personality
[16:31]  Andromeda: When girls show up here and want to become dolls. its nice to see how they respond BEYOND the nuts and bolts of how the key works..
[16:31]  Christina Halpin: what do you mean?
[16:31]  Andromeda: Do they hold the spirit of a doll.. its the doll's motivation that energizes me
[16:32]  Christina Halpin: what is the spirit of a doll?
[16:32]  Akina Hinun: well yes most dolls are different people made into dolls, so it follows that all us dolls are different.
[16:33]  Andromeda: every doll is different true. but some.. its like they're just interested in the key.. and not the interaction it provides
[16:33]  Akina Hinun: so like the helplessness that comes from winding down?
[16:34]  Andromeda: its the dolls that respond to my play that I like.. the ones who emote how they're feeling
[16:34]  dollie anna: mm...well before I became a dollie I did switch .....but since then I find myself much more submissive....mainly due too the key
[16:35]  Carla Hirvi-Wetter smiles to Anna and whispers "Make me feel safe, yes" and winks
[16:35]  Viola Chen: There's something to be said for the key creating an imbalance of power that is then NOT abused, consensually or otherwise.
[16:35]  Christina Halpin: I love that idea
[16:35]  Akina Hinun: mmm so true
[16:35]  Stacey Westminster: whispers: c
[16:36]  Andromeda: That power exchange is at the heart of most bdsm relationships..
[16:36]  Andromeda: yes Stacey?
[16:36]  Stacey Westminster: whispers: What i like in a top/winder is someone who takes an active role in exploring what types of doll i can be and putting me through some paces. Not that that's happened much; but i find that very attractive.
[16:38]  Christina Halpin: c
[16:38]  Andromeda: so Stacey. you like the Top to challenge you.
[16:38]  Stacey Westminster: whispers: That would be interesting, though not something i've experienced. What i was thinking of was someone who decides on type of doll and choose a corresponding outfit.
[16:39]  Andromeda: I see
[16:39]  Akina Hinun nods
[16:39]  Christina Halpin: I think I am like Stacey
[16:39]  Andromeda: its the someone making the decisions for you then..
[16:40]  Andromeda: Christina.. you had a comment?
[16:40]  Christina Halpin: Yes, but I think Stacey said it first
[16:40]  Andromeda nods
[16:40]  Christina Halpin: I think I would most like an owner who used my key
[16:41]  Christina Halpin: I don't know about the obedience and other things
[16:41]  Andromeda: Mm hmm.. its a bit dissatisfying when the only interaction people have with your key is to wind it
[16:41]  Akina Hinun: well i think that is something a top instills in you is obedience. You bring some of it with you but some has to be tough.
[16:42]  Christina Halpin: But dolls tend to be nice and helpful, why do you also need obedience?
[16:43]  Akina Hinun: to know what is the best way Your top want you to be helpful
[16:44]  Christina Halpin: Sorry, Andi, I think I started thinking about what I wanted, not what an owner wants
[16:44]  Andromeda: that's ok Christina..
[16:44]  Andromeda: I'll take any comments concerning doll play
[16:45]  Christina Halpin: Well, most definitely, if you like men, it pays to have sexy outfits
[16:45]  Jennifer Windrum: to be loved and cuddled, even displayed
[16:46]  Andromeda: how many tops out there do you figure like to dress and pose us dolls. are they common? rare?
[16:46]  Jennifer Windrum: giggles :: men only like rubber dollies
[16:46]  Akina Hinun: mmm thats always good to have love and cuddles.
[16:47]  Andromeda: I would agree to a point Jennifer.. most men want the sexiness.. latex.. orifices...
[16:47]  Andromeda: But not all..
[16:47]  dollie anna: agrees love and cuddles very important for dollies ....also being displayed
[16:47]  Jennifer Windrum: yes, not all
[16:48]  Andromeda: There was a comment by a D type at the second group discussion..
[16:48]  Andromeda: Renard Koskinen: I think doll play is the type of D/s play most focused on the sub being a "treasured object."
[16:49]  Akina Hinun nods
[16:49]  Christina Halpin: interesting
[16:50]  Carla Hirvi-Wetter: I'd agree
[16:50]  Jennifer Windrum: if one is lucky......on the other hand even loved toys are easily discarded
[16:50]  Andromeda: The doll gets to be treated as a 'princess' but also kept firmly under control
[16:50]  Jennifer Windrum: nods
[16:50]  Andromeda: Carla.. do you see your dolly as a treasured object?
[16:50]  Akina Hinun: i dont like it when i see any sub get discarded mew
[16:51]  Carla Hirvi-Wetter: I would have to think about the 'object' qualification, it's not my way. But the 'treasured', definitely yes
[16:52]  Christina Halpin: So, what I am hearing and thinking for myself, is that when we are owned, we want to be treated like dolls
[16:52]  Christina Halpin: But the owner might be thinking he/she is the dominant
[16:52]  dollie anna: mm....that is the importance of the key .....the owner has so much power ......the key for me is my heart .....my owners have the power too break my heart .....
[16:52]  Christina Halpin: and it's hard to get owners
[16:52]  Akina Hinun: not just dolls but on ocation moble dolls
[16:53]  Akina Hinun: it is hard for every 10 or so subs there is one Dom/me
[16:53]  Jennifer Windrum: yes a static doll is not much use really
[16:54]  Andromeda: Akina.. that is a problem universal to SL.. in all kink communities.. Lots of subs.. few tops
[16:54]  Jennifer Windrum agrees
[16:54]  Andromeda: in some ways, it's similar in RL too
[16:54]  Akina Hinun: i was trying to say just that -giggles and mews-
[16:54]  Akina Hinun nods
[16:55]  Andromeda: although thee ratio is far more skewed in SL
[16:56]  Andromeda: It occurs to me that what I mentioned earlier "Service Tops" is the ones who might be more inclined to like doll play.
[16:56]  Carla Hirvi-Wetter: c
[16:56]  Andromeda: because its a way to express caring
[16:57]  Andromeda: I consider myself to be a service top
[16:57]  Andromeda: Yes Carla?
[16:58]  Jennifer Windrum: what's a service top?
[16:58]  Carla Hirvi-Wetter: It's a nice way to express care indeed. But having a rather diverse family these days I'd as well compare it to pet play.
[16:58]  Carla Hirvi-Wetter: A pet needs care too, it's just a different character and personality behind
[16:58]  Christina Halpin: how does it compare?
[16:58]  Jennifer Windrum: oh a doll is similar to a pet
[16:58]  Andromeda: Think about it like this Jennifer.. a masseuse
[16:59]  Jennifer Windrum: domme as a service?
[16:59]  Jennifer Windrum: like that?
[16:59]  Andromeda: the Masseuse is providing a service.. but she/he is in control
[16:59]  Jennifer Windrum: nods
[16:59]  Christina Halpin: and pet play also structures the D/s interaction
[17:00]  Andromeda: when I play with dolls. when I help a girl become a doll. I am offering a service
[17:00]  Andromeda: when I play with you..
[17:00]  Andromeda poses Jennifer
[17:00]  Jennifer Windrum smiles up at her
[17:00]  Andromeda: I am in control.. I decide how you look
[17:01]  Andromeda: but I am also servicing your need to be played with
[17:01]  Andromeda smiles.. "I love the Preen pose"
[17:01]  Carla Hirvi-Wetter: You can be a Domme catering your own needs and shaping all subs to your desires. Or you consider their needs as well as yours and allow for flexibility. The Service Domme will try to adapt to her subs needs ... within her own limits and abilities.
[17:01]  Andromeda: EXACTLY Carla
[17:03]  Andromeda: That was a nice wrap-up Carla
[17:03]  Jennifer Windrum: but being posed is like any sub being put into a pose....maybe cuter
[17:03]  Carla Hirvi-Wetter smiles
[17:03]  Andromeda: Time is about up. any last words?
[17:04]  Christina Halpin: This was interesting and made me think
[17:04]  Christina Halpin: You should get me to come more often
[17:04]  Christina Halpin: laughing
[17:04]  Jennifer Windrum: giggles

Another "New" Doll House

It's been a few weeks since the last post so I thought I'd show everyone the latest and greatest at Community Dolls.

Community Dolls has moved (slightly) again and this one should be for good. The owners of Pasha have acquired a new Estate sim to be a new, better home for Pasha BDSM and Community Dolls.

With the full Estate we have more prims available and used them to good effect. We are in the NW corner of Spring Mountains. The first image is a bit of an overview. The Dolls House moved in one package and is set inside almost exactly as it was in the Homestead. We set the pavilion from the Doll Festival nearby so it is available for events if desired. You will notice a koi pond to the left of the bridge, that is the next subject.
Community Dolls wanted a beautiful, peaceful retreat in the Japanese style. The idea we chose was of a water garden. Carp swim in the pond. Dragonflies buzz the lilies. And a hidden frog croaks on. The stone wall has places to sit and enjoy the tranquility.
The far NW corner, hidden by the tree in the overview, is Mermaid Beach. Mermaid beach has spectacular sunset views, some sittable logs, and a campfire to soak it all in.
Why did we call it Mermaid Beach? Perhaps its the rock just off the beach that mermaids are rumored to lounge on (Strategically placed to allow the mermaid to converse with those on the beach). Or maybe its the hidden undersea cave that a mermaid can call home.
So, that's the look at the Community Dolls home. The owners of Pasha BDSM and the Community Dolls invite you to come have a see for yourself. We'd love to show you in person.

Kisses.

Doll Discussion Group #3: "Dolly Survival Guide"

Friday, March 28 - Community Dolls hosted it's third group discussion on Doll Play. Its subject "Dolly Survival Guide"
We had a GREAT turnout with about a dozen participants and may actively contributing. The most rewarding thing for me was when two different girls afterwards related to me that the discussion gave them the reassurance to become dolls full time. YAAAAAAY!!!!

As usual, transcript is below..

[16:05]  Andromeda: So my chosen topic for tonight is "Dolly Survival Guide"
[16:06]  Andromeda: What do I mean by this? Obviously the dolls don't need to fend off ferocious predators and scrounge for food.
[16:07]  Andromeda: ..perhaps the occasional griefer..
[16:07]  Andromeda: Anyway.. how do dolls interact with the other people they meet?
[16:07]  Andromeda: how do makers and owners and casual players interact with the dolls?
[16:08]  Andromeda: I'd like to point out that this is an open discussion.. not a class. I am not here to 'teach' you how to be a doll
[16:09]  Andromeda: I'm hoping to learn others viewpoints as much as you are..
[16:09]  Andromeda: so.. How does a doll behave in the "wild"?
[16:10]  Andromeda: I'm going to pick on someone..
[16:11]  Morning Star: c
[16:11]  Andromeda: Yes.. Morning Star
[16:11]  Morning Star: How do dolls interact with other people they meet? Most often when I meet with "people" that wonder what the thing is sticking out of my back. It affords a personal opportunity to talk about and describe Doll Play and what it is. I myself am still learning but the KEY is a great conversational starter.
[16:12]  Andromeda: oh yes.. I agree. the key does get people's attention.
[16:12]  Morning Star: Mhmm
[16:12]  Andromeda: How do you encourage someone to give the key a try
[16:12]  Morning Star: ask them nicely please to wind the key so I dont go lifeless while talking to them ^.^
[16:13]  Stacey Westminster: c
[16:13]  Morning Star: it is a bit scarry to the person in some ways and they are happy to wind it so that they dont end up with a lifeless person infront of them
[16:13]  AllyCatEden: q
[16:13]  Andromeda: Thank you Morning Star.. what would you like to add Stacey?
[16:14]  Stacey Westminster: i feel very shy about asking people to wind me--even family and friends.
[16:14]  Stacey Westminster: After a couple times of getting wound down, i became rather disappointed in how i was handling things.
[16:14]  Stacey Westminster: And i haven't been a Dolly much since then.
[16:15]  Jinty Darkwatch: c
[16:15]  Stacey Westminster: So there's value in having a way to feel good about yourself, in making such requests.
[16:15]  Andromeda: I see.. we're all sad to hear that.. maybe you can get some tips tonight
[16:15]  Stacey Westminster: (done)
[16:15]  Morning Star: c
[16:15]  Andromeda: Ally had a question
[16:15]  AllyCatEden: what happens exactly when the key winds down?
[16:15]  Andromeda: we collapse to the ground.. not walking or talking
[16:15]  Andromeda: until we are wound again
[16:16]  AllyCatEden: thank you
[16:16]  Chiisai Shakti: c
[16:16]  Andromeda: and Morning Star?
[16:16]  Morning Star: Having somone wind your key though is a very intimate thing in some regards especialy if it is family or maybe your owner, Like with Pony play it is alot about intimacy the bonding and if you share with your close friends and family your need it becomes more intimate and they realize your needs and will happily wind your key.
[16:17]  Morning Star: done
[16:17]  Andromeda: Thank you
[16:17]  Stacey Westminster: c
[16:17]  Jinty Darkwatch: c
[16:17]  Andromeda: Chiisai?
[16:17]  Chiisai Shakti: I have wanted to try but being lifeless scares me
[16:18]  Andromeda: Certainly understandable Chii..
[16:18]  Chiisai Shakti: the idea of being lifeless is frighting.
[16:18]  Chiisai Shakti: d
[16:18]  Andromeda: A reassurance comes from knowing the key doesn't ever block IMs. you can always call the group for a rescue wind.
[16:18]  Morning Star: ^.^
[16:18]  Chiisai Shakti: :-)
[16:18]  Andromeda: Madame Jinty?
[16:19]  Jinty Darkwatch: If you're shy and I am online come to me you can still IM I should think, I will help you
[16:19]  Jinty Darkwatch: wind you up until your get used to it
[16:19]  Jinty Darkwatch: done
[16:19]  Chiisai Shakti: thank you Jinty.
[16:19]  Chiisai Shakti: done
[16:20]  Andromeda: I have wound down a couple time out shopping and such.. a quick call to the Community Doll group and I always have half a dozen offers for help
[16:20]  Gwyddfid: c
[16:21]  Andromeda: Stacey?
[16:21]  Stacey Westminster: i just wanted to add that my family is supportive of winding me.
[16:21]  Stacey Westminster: It's me that's shy about asking.
[16:21]  Stacey Westminster: (done)
[16:22]  Andromeda: Gwyddfid had a comment?
[16:23]  Gwyddfid: Sometimes the group can help with more than just winding. There was a dolly once that accidentally set her ownership open and someone took it. When we finally stopped her from teleporting, someone from the group was able to reset the key.
[16:23]  Gwyddfid: done
[16:24]  Chiisai Shakti: c
[16:24]  Andromeda: that's what being part of the sorority is all about. dolls helping each other..
[16:24]  Andromeda: Chiisai?
[16:25]  Chiisai Shakti: that is how I got involved a doll needed help and we were able to. wouldn't stop till we did.
[16:25]  Chiisai Shakti: felt good to help.
[16:25]  Chiisai Shakti: done
[16:27]  AllyCatEden: c
[16:27]  Andromeda: Ally?
[16:27]  Andromeda: Did I miss anyone?
[16:28]  AllyCatEden: So if the key is a good conversation starter I would assume it helps the doll become social in what environ she may find herself in since her life literally depends on it. She has more opportunities socially.
[16:29]  AllyCatEden: oh, done.
[16:29]  Chiisai Shakti: means we need to be willing to put ourselves out there
[16:30]  Andromeda: I do say it certainly CAN be.. its a diffetnt look.. and once people know its ok to touch it lots of people love to be able to give you a wind
[16:30]  Stacey Westminster: q
[16:30]  Andromeda: Yes Stacey?
[16:30]  Stacey Westminster: There are some keys which are dangerous:
[16:31]  Stacey Westminster: They can be wound too much, and there may be no indication ahead of it me when winding.
[16:31]  Andromeda: UGH.. I hate the "Turn n Talk"
[16:31]  Stacey Westminster: How does that affect those doll's interaction?
[16:31]  Stacey Westminster: (done)
[16:31]  Chiisai Shakti: c
[16:32]  Andromeda: I can only speak for myself.. but the main reason I dont like keys that are scripted to "break" when overwound is that there are too many griefers out there
[16:32]  Chiisai Shakti: my understanding is it makes things spotty, they can't talk or TP things like that.
[16:32]  SomethingFilthy: q
[16:32]  Andromeda: the Turn n Talk has so many ways to "break" its never found 'whole'
[16:33]  Andromeda: YEs Chii.. it all depends on the key.. and how its scripted
[16:33]  Chiisai Shakti: it was so scarey for the girl we helped.
[16:33]  Andromeda: Christina only want the 'good' of being a doll.. that's why the COmmunity Doll is is not scripted to 'Break"
[16:34]  Andromeda: SomethingFilthy? your question?
[16:34]  SomethingFilthy: If your using a key that breaks, how do you fix it? Or get it fixed?
[16:35]  Andromeda: again that depends on the key and how its scripted..
[16:35]  Jinty Darkwatch: C
[16:35]  Andromeda: The Community Doll key is not scripted to behave broken
[16:35]  Andromeda: Yes Madame Jinty?
[16:36]  Jinty Darkwatch: is there one best key the dolls should get,
[16:36]  Jinty Darkwatch: and if so what one and where if its costs money we can raise that for the dolls here at pasha
[16:36]  Andromeda: This gets in the realm of opinions.. so I will be giving mine..
[16:37]  Andromeda: I think that the best doll key to buy is Asami's key.. AI Tech
[16:37]  Jinty Darkwatch: the survival of the doll is the key?
[16:37]  Andromeda: There are some dolls who dont have keys.. rubber dolls.. gynoids..
[16:38]  Morning Star: c
[16:38]  Jinty Darkwatch: Done
[16:38]  Andromeda: Yes Mornign Star?
[16:38]  Morning Star: I have been a rubber doll most of my Doll experience so getting a key was very new and in alot of ways very scarry
[16:38]  Morning Star: but getting a key was very enlighting
[16:38]  Andromeda: how is is differnt to be a windup than a rubber doll?
[16:39]  Jinty Darkwatch: Q
[16:39]  Morning Star: it gave me a glimps into being doll in a new way, more being adorded instead of just used and abused
[16:39]  Andromeda: more importantly to the discussion.. how do the two doll differ in how they interact with others
[16:39]  Morning Star: being a rubber doll I was just used in however somone wanted I realy didnt get adored or pamperd
[16:40]  Morning Star: having a key ment I was somonthing more I was somthing that needed to be taken better care of
[16:40]  Andromeda smiles
[16:40]  Morning Star: being a rubber doll when somone was done playing with me I could get thrown in the corner so to speak and forgotten about for a while
[16:40]  Andromeda: Dolls do have a tendency to want to be treasured and cared for..
[16:40]  Morning Star: it was very depressing at times
[16:41]  Morning Star: done unless somone wants to know more
[16:41]  Jinty Darkwatch: Q
[16:41]  Andromeda: Mr Pen.. may I ask you a question?
[16:41]  Andromeda: yes Miss Jinty?
[16:41]  Pen Ðragon: yes
[16:41]  Jinty Darkwatch: can a rubber doll not be a wind up doll??
[16:42]  Jinty Darkwatch: and I so sorry Star that you have missed out on things
[16:42]  Morning Star: thanks
[16:42]  Andromeda: sure she can.. we place no limits on HOW to be a doll.. there is no "ONE TWUE WAY" to be a doll
[16:42]  Andromeda: just like any other kink
[16:43]  Jinty Darkwatch smiles
[16:43]  Morning Star: but I've been trying to incorperate my key into being a rubber doll and move into more of a Hmmm living doll not an object " ? "
[16:43]  Jinty Darkwatch: good as that is what I want for karin
[16:43]  Andromeda: Mr Pen.. are you a doll lover? does your girl identify as a doll of some kind?
[16:43]  Jinty Darkwatch: Done
[16:44]  Pen Ðragon: No, we are here to learn about dolls...we've never had much interaction and we were curious and wanted to learn
[16:44]  Morning Star: :) that is good to hear
[16:44]  Andromeda: ahh. welcome then.
[16:45]  Pen Ðragon: thank you
[16:45]  Andromeda: I wont put you too much on the spot then.. just one quick question.. what is it about dolls that you might find appealing?
[16:46]  Jinty Darkwatch: and welcome to Pasha
[16:46]  Pen Ðragon: I would have to say that it would be the generally submissive nature and their need to be pampered
[16:47]  Andromeda smiles.. "you may have a line of dolls asking you to play with them after we break.."
[16:47]  Andromeda giggles
[16:47]  Andromeda: may I ask your girl? what intrigues her about maybe being a doll?
[16:47]  Pen Ðragon: *blush* Too kind
[16:48]  Jinty Darkwatch: oh cute
[16:48]  Pen Ðragon: yes, you may ask, and she may answer
[16:48]  Jinty Darkwatch: he blushes
[16:48]  Jinty Darkwatch: make a nice Ken
[16:49]  jadey Ðragon: there was a strange fascination in the beauty of it, and since I know so little i wanted to educate myself from people who live it the best way they can
[16:49]  Andromeda: It seems like a good tiem to provide a couple of web links now. we have a website. and a blog
[16:50]  jadey Ðragon: that would be nice thank you kindly
[16:50]  Pen Ðragon: *smiles* well put babygirl
[16:50]  jadey Ðragon: ty Sir
[16:51]  Andromeda: There is some of the "Community Doll" philosophy to be read there..
[16:52]  Andromeda: So.. how does a doll act to help encourage others to play with her/him?
[16:53]  Andromeda: and what would a maker like to see in a doll's behavior?
[16:53]  Morning Star: q
[16:54]  Morning Star: maybe more comment
[16:54]  Andromeda: yes MorningStar?
[16:54]  Morning Star: that is somthing that I've had a diffacult time with, being a rubber doll most of my experience it is or has been just being grabed and used.
[16:55]  Andromeda: Christina, who founded Community Dolls, says that a doll is cheerful and helpful..this is how we thank the community for giving us life
[16:56]  CaptivePenny Rose smiling
[16:57]  Jinty Darkwatch grins
[16:58]  Morning Star: but their has to be more than just being kind and nice to get somone to "play" with you
[16:59]  Andromeda: THat's true Morning Star..
[16:59]  AllyCatEden: c
[16:59]  Andromeda: I think that being pleasant, helpful and also intriguing is a way to encourage play
[17:00]  Andromeda: have a look that fits in with the area
[17:00]  Andromeda: being a pink frilly thing in a goth sim isn't going to get you much play
[17:00]  Morning Star giggles
[17:00]  Morning Star: Hmmm Sin Labs
[17:01]  Andromeda: Yes Ally?
[17:01]  AllyCatEden: I have found being a porcelain doll that I try to be a muse, a doll of admiration and wit. A good companion. But most makers want a sexual aspect (which I'm not willing to give) which discourages me from finding a maker.
[17:02]  Morning Star: c
[17:02]  Andromeda: Yes Ally.. sex does tend to be the expectaion.. but stick to your limits..
[17:02]  Andromeda: no one can tell you how to be your doll
[17:02]  Andromeda: Yes Morning Start?
[17:02]  CaptivePenny Rose: :)
[17:02]  Morning Star: the sexual part is what most rubber dolls end up being, just a sex object
[17:03]  Morning Star: it is unfortunate but IM finding being a real doll
[17:03]  Morning Star: I can be more my self
[17:03]  Morning Star: and If maybe I hint to the person playing with me what to maybe dress me in it helps when we go places
[17:04]  Andromeda: I've said that putting this key on didnt turn me into a doll.. it let the doll that was inside out
[17:04]  Morning Star: to interact and be a part of the community
[17:04]  Morning Star: well it has taken a while to learn that
[17:05]  Andromeda: so Ally.. if you dont find what you want where you are.. go elsewhere.. dont change waht you want or what you are
[17:06]  AllyCatEden: Yes, I'll stick to my guns ^_^ thanks for the encouragement!
[17:06]  Andromeda smiles
[17:06]  Jinty Darkwatch: and if your not sure talk about it
[17:06]  Andromeda: I think its time to bring this discussion to a close. Thank you, all, for coming.

Hinamatsuri, Japanese Doll Day

March 3 was our third Annual Doll Festival. This years festival was held at Cure Maid Cafe on the sim Hunters V.

Our Venue Hostess was the lovely 咲子 Sakiko (sakikoyo).

The event hostess was adorable Mei めい (maystone). She hosted both dances and did a wonderful job

Our DJ was Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ℬußßleŞ Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ (trinity.ermintrood).
(copy/paste is a wonderful thing)

We had L$10000 in dance contest prizes and we had gift card door prizes courtesy of AiTech and Rag Dollz
Thanks go to 杏 (annelies.fratica) for building the Hinamatsuri display stand.
Thanks also to my Pet, Katilyn  (katey.haystack) for building the dance floor (BTW: She also made our doll house in Pasha, such a talented builder).
Aubry Clockwork (aubry.clarity) was our coordinator with Cure Maid Cafe
Silverrain Sucettes of Coghaven fame exhibited her place for the third straight year.. I must say she was looking especially lovely that night.

Below I have quoted our 'mama doll', Community Doll creator, Christina Halpin.
"I had a great time! The largest crowd I counted was 29. So we got good attendance. But, we will probably try celebrating Doll Day on Saturday next year.
There are so many people to thank. I want to start with Mei, because she had to work hard being our hostess for the dances. KT built, Andi supervised, Bubbles was our DJ for both dances. Aubry coordinated for us. Annelies reconstructed her HinaMatsuri stand. AITech and RagDollz helped with door prizes. Saki let us use our land. There was no lag I could see. The festival landmark still leads to her Cure Maid Cafe."

I'm going to be quiet now and let the rest of the pictures speak for themselves.. Here's looking forward to next year!

Second Doll Group Discussion Feb 21, 2014

Community Dolls hosted its second group discussion on Friday, Feb 21, 2014. Our subject this time was "What Kind of Doll are You?"
It took me a few days to get this cleaned up with RL events and also preparations for the upcoming Doll Festival. Transcript is posted below. As before it has been cleaned up, edited and spelling corrected.

Silly me I forgot to take a snapshot of the gathering.

[16:01]  Andromeda: Please everyone.. have a seat
[16:04]  Andromeda: alright,, I think we can get started.. thank you call for coming
[16:09]  Andromeda: so.. Doll play.. last week we asked "What is it.. why do we do it?"
[16:10]  Andromeda: This week we go a bit into the "how"?
[16:10]  Andromeda: Today's topic is "What kind of doll are you?"
[16:11]  Andromeda: but is there anyone who is still curious about or confused by the idea of doll play?
[16:11]  Kaiti McGee: I came out of avid curiosity but .. will back track.. please do not hold up for me.
[16:12]  Andromeda: ok Kaiti
[16:12]  Andromeda: maybe our insights will help you understand
[16:12]  Kaiti McGee smiles and nods
[16:13]  Andromeda: what kinds of dolls are there
[16:14]  Andromeda: lets talk briefly about the toys..
[16:14]  Andromeda: Barbies.. BratZ those new Monster High dolls
[16:15]  Andromeda: dolls are playthings..
[16:15]  Andromeda: baby dolls..
[16:15]  Andromeda: even boys Action Figures are dolls
[16:15]  Silky Purr: Plushies? o.o
[16:16]  Andromeda: Kewpies..
[16:16]  Andromeda: my little pony
[16:16]  Andromeda: toys.. playthings
[16:18]  Andromeda: Barbies are dressup dolls..
[16:18]  Andromeda: you have porcelain dolls. they are objects of beauty.. not meant to be played with..
[16:19]  Andromeda: you set them up and admire them. they're works of art
[16:19]  Andromeda: Japanese ball Joint Dolls can fit in this category
[16:20]  Andromeda: and then we can get into adult realm.. blow up sex dolls.. I only mention themy cause there is a large community of kinksters who like to be living sex dolls
[16:21]  Andromeda: As far as me.. I think the type of doll I am is more than anything a dressup doll.. fashion.. pretty poses..
[16:21]  Andromeda: I love it when people look through my outfits and find something to put me in
[16:22]  Andromeda: you see now my key is set to Fashion Doll. Its my favorite Type
[16:22]  Community Doll Key: Andromeda Lamplight is looking at your dress menu
[16:22]  Andromeda changes
[16:23]  Andromeda: Another type of doll.. is the robot..
[16:24]  Andromeda: a robot is a doll that can move in some way by itself.. right?
[16:24]  Andromeda: frequently referred to in these communities as a gynoid
[16:25]  Andromeda: I'm curious Julie.. do you consider yourself more a doll or a gynoid?
[16:25]  ACS's JulieDoll: It depends on the situation, really... more often gynoid, but sometimes doll. (Though I prefer the word android to gynoid, even if it is technically the wrong gender.)
[16:26]  Andromeda: ahh. thank you
[16:26]  Andromeda: android has more recognition as a word.
[16:26]  Andromeda: sometimes you have to explain the word Gynoid.. not so with android
[16:27]  ACS's JulieDoll: Though sometimes pedants get pedantic when I describe something that looks female as an android,
[16:28]  Andromeda: what did they call that very first recorded 'gynoid'.. the lady robot in the old movie Metropolis
[16:29]  ACS's JulieDoll: My guess is "robot" if anything at all.
[16:30]  Renard Koskinen: If I might interject...?
[16:30]  Andromeda: Hmm... a bit of Google research may be in order after we break..
[16:30]  Andromeda: sure Renard go ahead
[16:32]  Renard Koskinen: After giving it a bit of thought, I wonder if categorization...if the name people use to describe themselves...has less to do with the actual description of their physical form, and more to do with how they'd like to behave relationally.
[16:32]  Renard Koskinen: Take the three terms you mentioned--gynoid, doll, and sex doll.
[16:33]  Andromeda nods, listening
[16:34]  Renard Koskinen: In the last case, sex doll, in my experience, the doll wants to be treated primarily as an object of libidinous interest. In the "doll" case, the desire is more likely to be an interest in being dressed and displayed...to be treated as a valued toy.
[16:34]  Andromeda nods.. that sounds about right
[16:35]  Renard Koskinen: In the "gynoid" case, the sense I get is that the person wants a sense of being...mmm...how to described...
[16:36]  Andromeda: If I had to guess I'd think a gynoid is motivated by the "structure" that being programed gives
[16:36]  Renard Koskinen: ...trapped...controlled...female, but artificial. It typically isn't sexual, but is quite feminine. A gynoid, typically, wants to emphasis their femininity...and android, their mechanized nature.
[16:37]  Renard Koskinen: In all cases, the physical form could be precisely the same.
[16:37]  Renard Koskinen smiles, nodding, "That would make sense."
[16:37]  Andromeda: I think its a good time to mention the subjectivity of language.
[16:38]  Andromeda: "Doll" to one person may not mean the same to another
[16:38]  Andromeda: in fact.. if you think about it a moment.. every one of our avatars in SL is nothing but a high tech virtual paperdoll
[16:40]  Andromeda: Gwyddfid.. I am going to make a guess and ask if you consider yourself more than anythign else a porcelain doll?
[16:41]  Silky Purr: She looks a bit like it. ツ
[16:41]  Tiffy giggles.
[16:42]  Andromeda: and its not just he looks.. she likes to spend long times on display.. no interaction..
[16:42]  Gwyddfid: I would say mostly porcelain with some fashion doll.
[16:43]  Andromeda: THank you Gwyd. how about the other dolls here.. Tiffany and Tiffy.. what kinds of dolls are you?
[16:44]  Tiffy: I move between being a wind-up doll and an android.
[16:45]  Andromeda: Thank you.dear.. what is your doll motivation?
[16:45]  Andromeda: And Silky.. I missed you when I asked. what kind of doll are you?
[16:45]  Tiffy: I enjoy being an object to play with. Devoid of emotion
[16:46]  Tiffany Caiben: I think I'm a dressup doll, but I'm too new to doll play to know what i like best.
[16:46]  Andromeda: ahh.. well hopefully this discussion will help you learn
[16:47]  Tiffany Caiben nods
[16:47]  Andromeda: and of course being played with..
[16:47]  Andromeda: the best teacher is experience
[16:48]  Andromeda: Stef, what kind of doll are you?
[16:48]  Silky Purr: Windup.. for display, poses. Being dependent on others for "life". Definitely not fashion doll as of yet, meow.. maybe in time.
[16:49]  Stef Hulden: i'm more of a rubber doll/gynoid type...i love the objectification and sense of being controlled....plus i enjoy looking exotic :)
[16:49]  Silky's Dolly Key: whispers: As their key winds down, Silky Purr finds themselves far too weak to run or fly.
[16:49]  Andromeda: ahh nice.. everyone thank you for repsonding
[16:50]  Andromeda: adn there is Silky's dependence on display.. someone mind winding her?
[16:50]  Silky's Dolly Key: whispers: Tiffy wound Silky Purr up to 1 hour, 15 minutes (63%). How kind of them!
[16:51]  Andromeda: excellent
[16:51]  Silky Purr: Oh.. *blushes a little*
[16:51]  Andromeda: Kaiti.. as someone curious.. do you have any comments or questions on what you've seen or heard
[16:52]  Andromeda: Basically.. the BDSM aspects of Doll Play are in the objectification and control of the doll
[16:52]  Kaiti McGee: Not really yet Andromeda ... I do realize I have some researching to do
[16:54]  Renard Koskinen chuckles, "That sounds like a lot of other sorts of BDSM play as well."
[16:55]  Andromeda nods.. "How about you Renard? you had some nice insight earlier.. what can you add to the discussion to help wrap this all up?"
[16:57]  Renard Koskinen considers for a moment, "I think the question I'd like to ask the dolls is just that--what is unique about doll play? What makes it different from hypnosis play, transformation, enslavement, etc...the elements of control and objectification are/can be a part of all of these other kinds of play..."
[16:57]  Renard Koskinen: ...so what makes doll play unique?
[16:57]  Renard Koskinen: I have an inkling of an answer, but I'd be interested in what dolls themselves think.
[16:58]  Andromeda: I've said before when asked "why dolls?" the following..
[16:59]  Andromeda: Dolls are simple things.
[16:59]  Andromeda: they have simple needs..
[16:59]  Andromeda: be loved, admired, played with
[16:59]  Silky Purr smiles a little
[16:59]  Renard Koskinen nods.
[16:59]  Andromeda: a person.. or slave, or pet. is a bit more complex.. desires, motivations..
[17:00]  Andromeda: take the chair you sit in.. if it had feelings what would they be..
[17:00]  Andromeda: I think a chair being sat in would be happy
[17:00]  Renard Koskinen: Would the rest of you agree?
[17:01]  Andromeda: because it is fulfilling its purpose
[17:01]  Silky Purr has been in the chair's place and was happy <w<
[17:01]  Andromeda: dolls are easy to please.. just play with it
[17:01]  Tiffy nods
[17:01]  Stef Hulden: hmmm, for me complicated! it's the elaborateness of the play....it's far more complex than just having a Gorean chain you up, or being turned into a statue....you need all sorts of attachments and restraints and locks! and feeling your humanity slowly disappear as you're covered up in the doll costume and all the controls and restraints are locked shut is very shivery and exciting
[17:02]  Renard Koskinen nods, "So, for you, Stef, it's the process of losing control"
[17:02]  Stef Hulden: yes....I'm starting to discover that everything that attracts me in bdsm involves the word "control"
[17:02]  Andromeda: yes that is a big draw
[17:03]  Andromeda: last words?
[17:03]  Renard Koskinen: ...though I think I could come up with a kind of play that didn't involve doll play, but had that same sense of humanity leaching thrill.
[17:03]  Renard Koskinen: If I were to sum...
[17:03]  Gwyddfid: c
[17:03]  Renard Koskinen: I think doll play is the type of D/s play most focused on the sub being a "treasured object."
[17:04]  Andromeda: We'll hear Renard and then Gwyd
[17:04]  Renard Koskinen nods at Andromeda, "Which is, I think, what you were getting at."
[17:04]  Renard Koskinen chuckles, "All right--shutting up now."
[17:04]  Andromeda: Thank you Renard
[17:04]  Andromeda: your turn Gwyddfid
[17:05]  Gwyddfid: I think for some, they are dollies because they always were dollies, but it may have taken some kind person to help them realize it.
[17:05]  Gwyddfid: Dolly can be a state of being.
[17:05]  Gwyddfid: And that's all I can really think of at the moment.
[17:06]  Andromeda: not everyone is attracted to being a doll so I think that is true in away for all dolls
[17:06]  Andromeda: I like to say that the key didn't turn me into a doll it just let her out from inside
[17:07]  Andromeda: I would like to thank you all for coming.
